LESSON 11: ADJECTIVES
Adjectives describe, limit, or identify a noun or pronoun.
EXAMPLES: blue eyes lucky number
A limiting adjective makes the noun or pronoun it modifies more specific and concrete. Some common limiting adjectives are
few, many, every, each, both, several, some, any, most, and one.
The limiting adjectives a, an, and the are called articles.
EXERCISES: Underline the individual words that are acting as adjectives in the following sentences.
Then underline each limiting adjective twice and circle each article.
1. The working paper on child poverty outlines the commission's main recommendations.
2. Student participation in extra-curricular activities has dropped for two reasons.
3. Some careless people left their knapsacks on the back stairs.
