LESSON 13: ADVERBS
Adverbs modify a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. They tell how, when, where, to what extent, or how often.
EXAMPLE: Mrs. Hockley arrived yesterday.
The street was particularly quiet.
He smiled so broadly.
Adverbs can also modify a whole sentence.
EXAMPLE: Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.

Underline each adverb.
1. We wish to speak privately.
2. The sky glowered ominously as a few light raindrops fell earthward.
3. An absurdly large cockroach scuttled by.
